Rachel, a Los Angeles native, earned her Bachelor of Arts with Honors in Sociology from the University of California, Berkeley, with a minor in Jewish Studies. Her journey in education began in high school when she started tutoring, ultimately leading her to become a dedicated preschool teacher for over six years, where she developed a strong foundation in explicit teaching methods.
Since 2004, Rachel has been a private tutor, assisting students across various subjects, including math, reading, history, and writing. Her extensive experience working with diverse learners fueled her passion for educational therapy, prompting her to pursue advanced studies in the field. She completed her coursework at California State University, Northridge in December 2015 and earned her Master’s degree in December 2016.
Outside of her professional life, Rachel enjoys spending quality time with her husband, Adam, and their sons, Elliot and Owen, along with their dog, Fritzy. She loves watching Cal Football, cooking for friends, and indulging in spinning.
Rachel is a Board Certified Member of the Association of Educational Therapists and co-founded the Learn Smarter Podcast, which offers over 300 episodes of valuable educational content for families and educators. She is committed to continuous learning through organizations like CHADD and the International Dyslexia Association and is trained in the Wilson Reading System.
